George is an avid Postal player in addition to his powerful OTB play. He won the USCF prestigious Golden Knights Postal Tourney in 1973. He also has some OTB crowns under his belt as follows; North Carolina State Champion in 1954, Kansas State Champion in 1958 & 1959, Utah in 1961,Idaho in 1961 & 1962 and he was the USCF Southern Champion in 1954. In 1963 George was transferred to Guam and won their National Championship that year. Recently he was notified that he is to be included in the Historic Records of the State of Kansas for his Chess Championships.

In addition to all of the Championships George had won, he was also our Club Champion in the years of 1997 & 1998. After a long association with the HCC, George has moved to Texas to be with his family. We miss his stories and great Chess playing. Come back anytime George!
